| 2012 - A new garden emerging or the end of the world?With 2012 fast approaching, it seems everybody is talking about the great shift, the great awakening, the great transformation, the end of the world, the Mayans 2012 end date, the "cosmic significance" of the Mayan calendar, the global return to Christ consciousness, crop circles, evolution, or whatever. In this intensifying buzz of information and vibration, it is becoming an increasingly difficult struggle to discern the truth from the marketing hype and the attempts to get at your money. Mayan 2012 ProphecyIf you do find yourself concerned about 2012 or other spiritual, apocalypse, Armageddon, or end-times matters, don't worry. There is nothing to fear and nothing to worry about. The world is not ending and there will be no "mass exit" on our around the year 2012 (unless of course our "leaders" go to global war, which they seem like they are preparing to do). No doubt the Mayan calendar is interesting, but it is just a calendar and the end of it is just the end of a calendar. It's like our year, or our century. When our calendar comes to an end after 365 days, you just start the process over again. It's a simple as that. Supposing that the Mayan calendar predicts the end of the world is like suggesting that Christmas day falls just six days before a yearly apocalypse. It's senseless and the only reason the Mayan calendar has got such dramatic potential is because some people figure they can make money off of that potential. Nobody is going to buy a book about an unspecified end of the world date, or go see a movie that posits some great catastrophe some time in the future. But put a date to it, and call it a prophecy, and that's money in the bank of the publishers, producers, and religious pundits of this world who are now so practiced at making money off of your fear that they can do it in their sleep. Mayan Sacrifice and ProphecyAnd let's not forget, for all the wonderful talk about Mayan spiritual prowess and their ability to accurately predict the 2012 "end" of something, these people engaged in human sacrifice. It's a little weird, when you think about it, that so many people are basing so much on the opinion of a group of people who were imperialist by nature, and didn't think twice about ripping the heart out of the chest of some innocent son or daughter. Personally, I don't find anything enlightened about the Mayan belief that ripping somebody's heart out in sacrifice meant they went straight to heaven. In my humble opinion, you're just left with a dead body and a sad family, end of Mayan story. Unless you want to posit that their great spiritual wisdom came from their barbaric practice of human sacrifice, you're kinda left hanging on an end of the world limb with no where to go but down. So, what's the big deal about 2012Well frankly, nothing. The year 2012 is just a date like any other date. However just because 2012 is just a date, doesn't mean something's not up on planet earth. If you ask me, the world is changing and consciousness is expanding and there are things you need to know about your expanding abilities and awareness if you are to comfortably navigate and grow with the massive changes now occurring on this earth. It is definitely nothing to be scared off (unless you want to bring forward the Mayan practice of human sacrifice), but it is something you want to prepare for. Otherwise you'll find yourself increasingly agitated and confused by the impact of your own awakening process. I have read authors from Chopra to Ruiz to Weiss; I have gone to every kind of holistic therapy imaginable. I have searched and questioned and researched. The turning point came, when 'What the Bleep' was released here.... I literally sat in the cinema and cried with relief. Then I was led to Wallace D Wattles. From there came 'The Secret' and then Bill Harris with his Holo-Sync program. Then I watched 'The Mayan Calendar and the Transformation of Consciousness'. And now there's you, Michael Sharp. Before closing I should say one thing, personally I don't believe that anything of much cosmic significance is going to happen in 2012. Yes, the planet is changing and consciousness is expanding as we go through a Great Awakening, but 2012 is just a date. It's only significant because people want to sensationalize it and make money from it. It's what "they" always do. They take our fears about judgment and damnation and they wrap them to some specific date (Y2K, 2012, etc.) and then sell us things. They are preying on the fear they created. But don't give in to the 2012 hoopla and lie. The whole 2012 thing really is a big marketing wash and I recommend you don't fall for it. However, just because 2012 is a marketing wash doesn't mean something's not up on planet earth. The planet is awakening and you are invited to the party. And the best news, you've already got your ticket. To cash it in, just do what you do in the morning. Tell yourself, it's time to wake up and do it. Welcome Home!
